Bahnhofstrasse
Some 150 years ago, part of the city’s fortifications was transformed into what is now claimed to be the most famous 'Station Road’ in the world, the Bahnhofstrasse. Zürich’s shopping mile has contributed largely to the city's reputation as an El Dorado for shoppers and is a top address for international fashion labels, accessories, jewellery and watches.

Niederdorf
In stark contrast to the exclusive Bahnhofstrasse, Niederdorf is a pedestrian zone with many small boutiques, antique shops, bookshops and markets. At night numerous bars, restaurants and street artists take over which makes Niederdorf attractive throughout the day and the night.
Schipfe
Schipfe is the street of artisans where the craftspeople take the necessary time for their customers, providing expert advice and suggestions. Quality and custom-made pruducts are available in the small, romantic shops and workshops along the Limmat River. The Schipfe is an idyllic location to linger, shop and enjoy some good food.
Shopping for arts
A typical feature of Zürich is its high concentration of art galleries; along the Rämistrasse 'art mile', the galleries are just a few minutes’ walk apart, while at the site of the former Löwenbräu brewery, they even stand side by side. In addition to renowned art galleries, the world-famous auction houses Christie's and Sotheby's have branches in Zürich, which is considered to be one of the world's major art trade centres.
Last-minute and after-hours shopping
Whether you are looking for clothes or souvenirs, culinary delights to thrill the taste buds or exquisite jewellery to adorn the wrist, Zürich Airport and the Main Railway Station are good places to do shopping at odd hours or just before leaving Zürich.
