Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill
Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill is a paradise for those who like burgers, steaks, sandwiches, salads and similar American fare. The first Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill opened its doors in 1989 in Hong Kong. Today they have restaurants in Taiwan and Singapore too.
Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill is characterised by laid-back atmosphere. Tables, chairs, neon signs and even music are exactly the same as one would expect them to be in the States. We have no complaints about professional service but the real star of Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill is the food.
We tried fish & chips, cheeseburger (with cheddar), nachos and eggs Benedict with spinach. We did not have space for a dessert but we were told that molten chocolate cake is especially famous.
The food at Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill is excellent. There is noting much to say about simple preparation methods and presentation of the food. They key to the restaurant's success are high quality ingredients. Fish was fresh, beef juicy and tasty, nachos perfectly seasoned and accompanied by guacamole and salsa sauces prepared on the premises. While waiting for our main dishes, we were served homey corn bread with butter and a muffin.
We did not try any of the steaks but based on our experience with other dishes we do believe that they are excellent, although not totally cheap (steak prices hover around 50 SGD, which is approximately 28 EUR). However, the prices of other dishes are, especially considering the quality of food, very reasonable. We paid about 25 SGD per person.
There is a warning, printed in striking bold letters on the menu of Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill, saying 'We Serve American Portions'. The portions at Dan Ryan's Chicago Grill are large indeed but not insanely hefty.
