Best time to visit Bantayan is between January and April. The weather is mostly fine during that period. Rainy season on Bantayan Island starts in late May/early June and lasts until September or October. Typhoons which can hit Manila and northern Luzon between June and December normally do not affect Bantayan much, but there are exceptions, such as typhoon Fengsheng in 2008. But in general, Bantayan Island lies south of the typhoon belt.
It is possible to visit Bantayan in rainy season and typhoon season, but you need to be prepared for the fact that the weather influences life on Bantayan considerably. In case of heavy rain and strong winds, ferries between Hagnaya and Santa Fe on Bantayan Island stop running. Interruptions usually last for a few days. It is impossible to get to Bantayan or leave Bantayan during this time. Keep this in mind when planning your travel so that you don't end-up missing your flight home – unless you want to.
During the Holy Week, i.e. the week after Easter, accommodation prices on Bantayan Island increase for 100 to 200 percent. For this busy period, all the rooms tend to be sold-out months in advance. Bantayan is so crowded during the Holy Week that many guests end-up sleeping in tents or at the beach. We do not recommend visiting Bantayan Island during the Holy Week, unless you want to participate in numerous parties organised on the island during this time (and only during this time).
