Statue park (Szoborpark) is one of the most aggressively advertised tourist sights in Budapest. Founded by a couple of business minded Hungarians after the authorities started removing the Communist statues from Budapest's streets and squares, the Statue Park is a collection of discredited Communist iconography.
Honestly the park is not as impressive as one would expect based on the advertising. But if you are into the statues of Lenin, Stalin, Marx and Engels, workers' heroes and Hungarian Communist leaders in soc-realism style and if you wish to purchase a weird souvenir such as a can of 'the last breath of Communism', it is worth a visit.
Statue Park is out of Budapest, so go to Etele tér by tram No. 49 or bus No. 7 and then continue by yellow suburban bus (company Volán Busz) to the park. You need to buy a separate ticket for the suburban bus. You can get it from a ticket machine at the bus station.
There is also a direct bus to the park from Deák Ferenc tér, but you will be charged an exorbitant price for it. The price includes the entrance fee for the park but is still a rip-off compared to public transport.
