Bulgarian wine

Stambolovo Merlot 1998, one of the excellent Bulgarian wines.

Not to be missed:

Enira 2004
By Bessa Valley Winery L.t.d. from V. Ognianovo in PAZARRJIK Region is our absolute favourite. A blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%). Matured for 9 months in a combination of one- and two-years-old French oak.

Muskat Ottonel 2004
By Vinprom from Targovishte. Despite being labeled as country wine, we think this slightly sparking wine has very nice bouquet, balanced body, definitely excellent value for money.

Disclaimer

The above listed wine recommendations are based solely on our 12 days of heavy drinking in Bulgaria and shall represent only our 'sober' opinion. Please also note that reds and whites are all mixed up, not because we are (hik!) still drunk; they are arranged in our preferential order, the one at the top being our absolute favourite.
