Ingredients
- 1 garlic clove
- 1/2 small onion
- 1 ripe avocado, peeled, seeded
- 1/2 medium tomato
- 1/4 lemon (juice only)
- 1 pinch of salt
Method
1. Put all the ingredients into an electrical blender and blend until very smooth. Serve immediately.
Tip
Guacamole is nicer if served chilled. Keep the whole avocado in the fridge
until preparation of this dip, so that it can be served right after.
How to select a ripe avocado
Avocado has best aroma when ripe. Unfortunately, most of imported avocadoes sold in the market are not ripe yet, so keep an avocado in a sealed platic bag at room temperature for about 3 days (press the fruit a little from time to time and when it is a bit soft, it should be ok to eat).
The second method for determining if the fruit is ripe is to cut the fruit into two, then peel off the skin with your fingers. If the fruit is ripe, skin comes off easily. Unfortunately you can not keep the fruit at room temperature after it has been cut.
