Sweet & sour pork

Sweet & sour pork

Ingredients

- 250 g pork, cut into slices
- 1 egg
- 4 tbsp wheat flour
- oil for deep frying (enough to cover the pork)

Ingredients for the sauce

- 1 garlic clove, peeled & chopped
- 1 onion, peeled & chopped
- 1/4 pineapple (optional), peeled, cut into triangles
- 4 tbsp water
- 1 tbsp concentrated tomato sauce
- 1 tomato, cut into 8 pieces
- 1 tbsp rice wine or white grape wine
- 1 tbsp vinegar
- 2 tsp dark soya sauce
- 1/4 tsp wheat flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 cucumber (optional), peeled, shredded

Method

1. Heat the oil over medium heat.

2. Break the egg and put it into a bowl. Beat until all the egg white and egg yolk are mixed.

3. Coat the pork with wheat flour, then with the beaten egg.

4. Fry the pork until golden brown. Put aside (on a piece of kitchen paper towel to suck away some oil).

Method for the sauce

5. Take 3 tablespoons of oil left from deep frying the pork and heat it up in a small pot or sauce pan over medium high heat.

6. Stir fry the garlic and onion for about 3 minutes.

7. Add pineapple and fry for about 2 minutes.

8. Add water, tomato sauce, tomato, wine, vinegar, soya sauce and flour. Stir. Let the sauce boil for about a minute.

9. Add salt and stir.

10. Remove the paper towel and pour the sauce over the pork.

11. Garnish with cucumber and serve.
